About the event

The Policy Playhouse, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to connecting policymakers and constituents through the power of art, is pleased to announce its 2026 Playwriting & Film Festival. The festival will take place on February 28, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM at Smith College’s Julia Child Campus Center, Carroll Room (2nd Floor).


The annual festival brings together 22 artists, community members, and civic leaders to explore pressing local policy issues through creative expression. This year’s program will feature short films, staged play readings, and a live policy forum designed to spark dialogue and deepen public engagement. Participating artists will compete for awards from a designated prize pool.


The afternoon will begin with staged play readings at 2:00 PM, followed by short film screenings. A live policy forum will follow, featuring Aline Davis (City Councilor), Anat Weisenfreund (Ward 2 School Committee Member), and Jennifer Walts (Founder and Program Coordinator of the Pioneer…
